This document provides an unallocated contributions account resolution to establish an unallocated contributions account and can be used by both corporate and individual trustees.

The purpose of this account is to facilitate the allocation of contributions. The creation and operation of the account is subject to the minimum benefit standards of the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Regulations, 1994;

Generally, contributions must be allocated to a particular member within 28 days of the end of the month in which the contribution was received.  For example, contributions received in June 2025 must be allocated by 28 July 2025.  (Refer SIS Reg 7.08(2)).

The concessional contribution cap for 2024/25 is $30,000 irrespective of the age of the member.  For the preceding financial year the concessional contribution cap was also $27,500. Consequently, the maximum contribution which can be made in June 2025 which is to be credited to the unallocated contributions account is $57,500. (Note – assuming the member is not entitled to a higher concessional contributions cap for 2024/25 financial year).

This resolution does not authorise the trustee to allocate a particular contribution to the account.  This requires a separate resolution - please use the “UCA - Allocation” toolkit template.

It also does not authorise the trustee to transfer a contribution previously credited to the account to the member account of a member.   This requires a separate resolution - please use the “UCA - Transfer” toolkit template.

Please note:  This is a template document.  It will have to be modified for the particular requirements of each superannuation fund.

For superannuation funds governed by non-SUPERCentral or non-Townsends Business & Corporate Lawyers governing rules, please review the applicable trust deed and governing rules to determine if the template is suitable for the Superannuation Fund.
