Change of SMSF trustee for individual or corporate deed – with no change of member 

When changing the trustee of an SMSF several issues must be considered and a number of documents are needed to properly affect the change of trustee and record the change to ensure ongoing compliance. The rules of the fund may allow for the change to be carried out by resolution of the trustee, as sometimes third parties (such as banks) require a deed of change of trustee to be provided before proceeding with they will update the name of the trustee on the funds bank account. A deed is also generally required when changing the name of registered proprietors for real property.

We can prepare the necessary documents to validly add, remove or replace the trustee(s) and member(s) of the fund, whether it is a SUPERCentral or another providers deed.

If the fund deed has been written by a provider other than SUPERCentral, we  will also need to review the current trust deed of the fund to ensure that the change of trustee documentation is is prepared in compliance with the funds current Governing Rules.
