What Types of Contributions Are Subject to the $150/$450,000 Cap?

A member contribution is any contribution other than a contribution made by an employer for a member.
While the $150/$450,000 cap applies to member contributions, certain contributions are excluded from this cap:
- Member contributions to the extent to which the member has given a notice of intention to claim a deduction in respect of the contribution
- Contributions which are personal injury contributions
- Contributions which arise from small business capital gains concessions being the 15 year concession or the retirement concession
- Government co-contributions
- Payments made by the ATO to the fund as a SGC shortfall payment.
