Seniors Health Card – Increase in Cut-Off Income Levels
16 September 2024
The cut-off income levels for the entitlement to the Seniors Health Card have also been increased with effect on and from 20 September 2024.
The increased cut-off income levels are
- Single - $99,025 (previously $95,400)
- Couple - $158,440 (previously $152,640).
The Seniors Health Card is available to individuals and couples who would be entitled to an age pension but are excluded solely because of the application of either the income means test or the asset means test.
Entitlement to the Seniors Health Card is based only upon an income test. As long as the income of the individual or couple is less than the respective cut-off income levels, the card will be issued.
The cut-off income level is indexed each 20 September by reference to the increase in the Consumer Price Index.
