Do the IDs apply retrospectively?

Presumably, the ATO will seek to apply the IDs to any current arrangements and will also seek to apply the IDs to concluded tax assessments which are still within the statutory review period for a debit amendment.

However, the ATO may consider a different approach and only apply the two IDs on a prospective basis allowing a grace period in which affected loans can be restructured.
