Co-Contribution Rates & Thresholds

The threshold at which the Government Co-contribution begins to taper is $31,920 for the 2009/10 financial year.  The taper rate for 2009/10 will be at the rate of $3.33 per $100 of income in excess of $31,290.

The entitlement to a Government Co-contribution will completely cut out at $61,920.

For the 2009/10 and subsequent financial years, the income will, amongst other things, be based upon reportable fringe benefits and reportable super contribution (ie. salary sacrifice super contributions).

The Co-contribution rates for 2009/10, 2010/11 and 2011/12 will be 100% of the first $1,000 of eligible contributions.

The Co-contribution rate for 2012/13 and 2013/14 financial years will be 125% of the first $1,000 of eligible contributions.

The Co-contribution rate for 2014/15 and subsequent financial years will be 150% of the first $1,000 of eligible contributions.
