Can't Afford Estate Planning?
2 June 2008
Those who say that they can’t afford estate planning don’t realise that in fact they can’t afford not to have estate planning.
Those who say that they haven’t got the time to focus on their estate planning don’t realise that in fact they are running out of time.
Those who say they don’t need estate planning don’t realise that in fact they need estate planning right now.
Many people don’t understand that without an estate plan
- someone else may decide who gets their super benefits
- any business they own may not benefit their family
- their young family may pay too much tax on their estate income
- their children’s spouses may get most of their estate
- their children’s creditors may get most of their estate
and generally their assets may be dissipated in a manner that they wouldn’t want.
Estate planning is essential for everyone and is very affordable. Most people simply need to understand it better.
