We hope you can join us for our next session of the Bacon, Super & Eggs Breakfast Seminar.
This session will focus on the Federal Budget and several other topics to assist advisers provide the best possible advice to their clients.
The 2009/10 Federal Budget and its Effect on SMSFs - Tony Negline
The Federal Government will try to walk the fine line of balancing budgetary responsibility with fiscal
stimulus. The emphasis will no doubt be on ways to increase the tax grab while appearing not to do so.
- Will there be changes to the pension rules?
- Changes to imputation credits during pension phase?
- New rules about trustee education?
- New licensing requirements for SMSF trustees or advisers?
- Changes to transition-to-retirement pensions?
Hear Tony Negline’s view on how the Federal Budget will affect SMSFs in the year ahead.
The Business Real Property Exception - Michael Hallinan
Just how does the Business Real Property investment exception work in the SMSF context?
- What are the various possible applications of the exception to rural property, commercial and
residential property, company title property and interposed entities? - What is the impact of the “wholly and exclusively” threshold and of unlawful planning uses of property?
If you are advising SMSFs who want to use the exception in any way this is a ‘must see’ presentation
by Michael Hallinan.
