AUASB Guidance Statement revised

The Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (affectionately known as “AUASB”) has revised its Guidance Statement 009 which relates to the auditing of self managed superannuation funds.

As part of the SUPERCentral service, participating funds can obtain, if they so wish, a pro-forma compliance statement as to the SUPERCentral Governing Rules compliance with the checklist set out as an appendix to the Guidance Statement.  This checklist is now set out as Appendix 3 (previously the checklist was set out as Appendix 4).

The new version of the Guidance Statement – September 2015 (the superseded version is September 2013) applies to the 2015/16 and following financial years.  Only updating changes have been made to checklist to reflect legislative changes made since September 2013.

The 2015/16 pro-forma compliance statement will be available shortly after 1 July 2016 and will be based upon the September 2015 version of the Guidance Statement.
